Volue is looking for a Portfolio Manager / Data Scientist based in Arendal, Norway, with a strong interest in the Nordic physical power markets. In this hybrid role, you will help us continuously improve our ability to deliver value to customers – in line with Volue’s mission to enable a sustainable tomorrow.

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for forecasting, nominating trades in the day-ahead market, trading in the intraday market, and submitting bids in ancillary markets on behalf of our customers.

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in extracting actionable insights and predictions from structured and unstructured data to support decision-making in the energy markets.

You will collaborate closely with domain experts and other portfolio managers to develop and maintain predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques – enhancing trading strategies and improving customer experience. You will also act as the customer’s preferred point of contact.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

•  Contribute to portfolio tasks, including developing trading strategies based on data trends and programming logic.

• Monitor model performance, data drift, and data quality, and implement improvements to ensure high performance and adaptability.
• Work closely with domain experts and the physical portfolio customer team.
• Help improve systems, processes, and routines for trading in the physical power market.
• Support customer onboarding and follow-up, ensuring tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.

What you need to succeed:

• A degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Energy Studies, or a related field. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
• Strong communication skills in English and one of the Scandinavian languages.
• Experience from the Nordic energy market is an advantage.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
