We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer/Application Architect who can help us to continuously improve Volue’s ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission. This entails joining the product category of grid connection in Power Grid, an area with high marked share in Norway and a future growth potential both in the Nordics and Central Europe. In order to achieve this, you will be working on both new cloud products and our existing Grid Connection portfolio Elsmart to reach our ambitious marked goals. 

What you will be doing to make a difference:

Architectural Design: 

• Develop and document high-level technical architecture based on a profound understanding of the business domain and customers' needs, which meets functional and non-functional requirements.
• Cooperate with Head of Development and Product Manager to provide strategic input on current and future architecture within your product area.
• Evaluate emerging technologies in cooperation with Volue’s Enterprise Architects and stay informed on industry best practices.

Technical Leadership: 

• Offer technical guidance and coaching to Software Engineers, QA Engineers and other team members, supporting them throughout the development lifecycle for both new and existing technologies.
• Promote software craftsmanship by mentoring developers, leading code reviews, architecture discussions, and supporting technical decision-making.

Development & Integration:

• Join the development teams in the product category and develop high quality software products in line with the strategy, architectural direction and best practices.
• Collaborate across teams within Power Grid to ensure architectural alignment with both product goals and broader business objectives.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in software development, including at least 4 years in a Senior Software Engineer role.
• Extensive experience in aligning application development with business needs and domain.
• Leading skills in application development team and supervising the design, testing, and modification stages. 
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with a solid understanding of cloud-native technologies.
• Knowledge of:
  • Python for backend tasks or data processing 
  • Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and observability.
• Strong understanding of microservices , layered architecture, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Curious and motivated to learn and work in existing technology using Domino Web Services and/or HCL Domino integrations.

• Practical experience in:
  • ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+
  • Docker, Kubernetes (preferably AKS)
  • Azure cloud services and DevOps
  • OAuth 2.0 authentication flows
  • API design and RESTful service implementation. Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger for API contracts.
  • YARP or equivalent API gateway experience

The position reports to Head of Development and cooperates closely with Product manager of product area, and Enterprise Architect for Power Grid, as well as the group of Volue architects. We are looking to hire for Volue office in Trondheim, Oslo and Gdańsk, but will be ready to consider other locations for the right candidate.
